For those keeping track, the roosters did crow but 25 minutes late…then all night. That was the least of our worries though.Just after midnight, we were treated to a real Haitian deluge…and it lasted all night. The kicker was that the weather joined us through an opening in the roof and flooded the 1st floor. Most of the night was spent keeping supplies and personal items on the 2nd floor dry AND listening to the *#!*¤ roosters! At least Oiz had a quiet night and a great day (he no longer seems like just a patient – we have all seemed to adopt him like a son). Read More

I know you are wondering…roosters did crow last night but they were late…10:55pm. Their internal clocks must have been off.

Anyway, as for today, we are really finding our stride it seems. Today had this odd feeling of routine and the mood subdued. We started clinic at 9am and saw about 160 today. We seem to have made fast friends with our translators and have become like well-oiled machines. We only hope we are really helping to ease their suffering. Sometimes it is difficult to tell, but we continue to forge ahead with hope and optimism. Read More
