Hi All,
So sorry it has taken awhile to get this posted. I am finally enrolled in a Social Media for Dummies course…and do I ever need it!! So, in no way does this delay reflect our appreciation for those who hosted, attended and donated to our Project. We cannot express enough gratitude to Parkway Brewing Co. and The Landing Restaurant/Bruno’s GastroTruck for hosting Project Starfish Haiti’s inaugural public fundraising event…not to mention their very generous support for our mission. Thanks also to WSLS 10 for their coverage of this event. Many thanks to those who attended and to those who made additional donations in support of our cause. The day was warm, but the beverages were cold and tasty, the food was fantastic and the entertainment, provided by Ben Trout, was great!!
I am excited to inform you all that we raised over $2,000 to help get us started, and a special thanks goes to Mr. and Mrs. Bender, of SML, for their very generous contribution to this total. That said, we have a long way to go to achieve our goals of providing sustainable medical care to an unserved community in the most impoverished country in this hemisphere. I can assure you all that any funds raised will be put to good use as we strive to fulfill our mission and I will use this blog to keep everyone apprised of our progress. So, with that in mind, if anyone is now wondering how they can help us achieve our goal, please visit the Donate section of this site for details. Please don’t forget to specify Project Starfish Haiti in the memo line on your check.
I will report more as we take additional steps towards our goal and we look forward to additional events in coming months. Rest assured I will keep everyone informed when the next event is scheduled. Please remember to watch our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/projectstarfishhaiti for additional updates and by all means share the page with as many friends as possible. We need visibility, interest and enthusiasm to reach our goals and fulfill our mission.
So long for now and as always, Love to All!
Adam
