This is not to suggest that we are getting bored or complacent, but rather that we are already very comfortable in our surroundings. We are surely meant to be here!
Last night there was indeed a large game of cards before lights out. Great fun for those in the game, and speaking for myself, even more fun for the spectators! After a little clinic pre-planning, we all headed to bed. It was a bit warmer and muggy but most of us slept well. Michael, my roomie is a first timer and his reports about the early AM roosters bring back nostalgic memories.
This morning we had an opportunity to get more organized for clinic and despite some initial process improvement hiccups, clinic went very smooth. The whole team worked so well together that we probably finished with near 100 patients in less than 2 hours. We took a short break for lunch and then returned for the stragglers that had farther to come. What a more relaxed day and no less rewarding. We also had the most adorable spectators!
Once we packed our supplies and returned to our rooms, most made the familiar journey to our favorite beach…kids in tow. This time one of the children brought the most adorable puppy, which I am now attempting to figure out how to bring home with me!! So far my Google searches are not promising…but I am not giving up that easily Mylinda. She is SO cute!
We returned home for a shower, another delicious dinner, and some of us finally made it to the roof to catch the light breeze, do some star gazing and share some freaky stories…thank you Kiki and Rachel!
From the roof we can hear the schooling of Wilson by JennyMa. We may have to go back down to catch the show, but for now the cool air and moonlit view is too captivating. Hoping for a cooler night and maybe a breeze…or just longer fan life…and for Michael’s sake, sleepy roosters until sunrise!
We will have clinic here again tomorrow and with no rain tonight, the journey to clinic may be easier for our patients. We will see how many arrive for care…no matter the number, every clinic is another step towards our ultimate goal.
Will call it a night for now. More tomorrow.
Love to All,
The Team
