That’s right…the day has arrived for the roof of the future Peter Y Whitehead Memorial Clinic to be poured, or rather lifted bucket by bucket and then dumped and spread. On this island there are no cement trucks pumping concrete through goose neck tubes to the top of a building. The community is getting it done the old fashioned way…the bucket brigade. The end result will be no less beautiful!!

What a sight!! Our dream is becoming a reality. It is just a matter of time before our teams will be welcoming patients inside these walls…and eventually, a full Haitian medical staff will be providing all the sustainable services for their community. That is when our dream really comes true!

For now, we are so thrilled that this building project is employing so many members of the community in the form of builders as well as those preparing food to sustain them…and their earnings are providing for their families. The benefits of this clinic are reaching far beyond our wildest dreams…and the doors have not even opened yet!

I can’t help but think Peter must be smiling wide, as he was when he first came to Haiti in 2011. I can hardly wait to see his name and image displayed in and on this building when the doors open for business!

We will do our best day in and day out to make him proud and honor his memory in all the work we do…

In Loving Memory,

Adam
